For over a century the Monte Verità has been a pole of attraction drawing visitors to meet and exchange ideas.
The literary Festival Eventi letterari Monte Verità originates from this historical and philosophical context, with the intention of reviving the atmosphere of intense cultural debate that flourished in its early years.
The event will offer a series of encounters with great contemporary philosophers, writers and artists and will ensure that history lives on in the present and can radiate into the future.
The 11th edition of the Festival will be held from 30 March to 2 April 2023 in Ascona and Locarno, under the lead of a new artistic director: Stefan Zweifel, journalist, curator and translator. Joining him will be Maike Albath, journalist and literary critic, and Stefano Knuchel, film director.
The Festival will also award a prize in memory of Enrico Filippini (Locarno 1932 – Rome 1988), which is intended to recognize initiatives and personalities from the world of books that stand out for their courage, creativity and innovative spirit.
