Pioda room

The Pioda Room is ideal for seminars and meetings of up to 20 people. Participants may gather round the cosy, intimate fireplace which dominates the room. This room is named after the politician, writer and philosopher Alfredo Pioda from Locarno, the moral driving force in the adventurous history of Monte Verità. Alfredo Pioda owned the land on which the Monte Verità Centre stands today. He had originally planned to set up a theosophically inspired secular convent. The project fell through, but it prepared the ground for the arrival of the first vegetarian settlers.
